Fulham 1-1 Town Sun 21st Oct 2001 16:33
A much-changed Town side failed to break down a Fulham side which was down to 10 men for most of the game. Luis Boa Morte saw red just before half-time for a dive, although in truth he should have gone earlier for an elbow on Fabian Wilnis. Town had gone behind to a Barry Hayles goal with the equaliser from Jermaine Wright coming in the second half.
Town 0-0 Helsingborgs IF Thu 18th Oct 2001 23:40
Once again Town had Matteo Sereni to thank as the Italian's goalkeeping brilliance prevented a comfortable away victory for Helsingborg. On a night when fans had hoped and expected so much Town put on their worst home display yet in a so far largely dismal season.
Town 0-0 Everton Sat 13th Oct 2001 17:57
There was more frustration for Town fans against Everton at Portman Road as the Blues dropped two more home points. In truth it could have been even worse with Kevin Campbell missing a number of chances and despite the usual large amounts of possession Town failed to create too much clearcut themselves.
Crewe 2-3 Town Tue 09th Oct 2001 22:40
Town came through a tricky game against bogey side Crewe in a game where again they were rarely at their best. The Blues got off to the perfect start when Martijn Reuser scored after five minutes, but Crewe swiftly hit back through Rob Hulse. Alun Armstrong put Town in front and in the second half Reuser put Town 3-1 up before Dave Bramer immediately hit back.
Town 1-2 Leeds Sun 30th Sep 2001 19:03
George Burley was disappointed that his side got nothing out of this afternoon's game with Leeds after leading for most of the match. Town had chances to go even further ahead after Marcus Stewart had scored a first. Leeds hit back through Robbie Keane and, for the second year running in this fixture, a Mark Venus own goal gave Leeds the points.
Torpedo Moscow 1-2 Town (2-3 Agg) Thu 27th Sep 2001 22:50
Town tonight put themselves into the second round of the UEFA Cup after they beat a defensive Torpedo Moscow 2-1 on the night, 3-2 on aggregate. The Russian side were content with their one away goal and played like a typical away side by trying to catch us on the break.
Man Utd 4-0 Town Sat 22nd Sep 2001 18:12
The eventual scoreline of 4-0 was a touch flattering to Manchester United, although Town can have little argument with the result. The match was much like last season’s game at Old Trafford with United dominant in the first half, but with a second period more even, although Town rarely threatened.
Town 1-1 Torpedo Moscow Thu 20th Sep 2001 23:44
In the end Town could count themselves unlucky not to take a lead back to Moscow for the second leg next week. However, for much of the game it looked like the Russians would run out the winners. Titus Bramble was both hero and villain and Marcus Stewart missed a first half penalty.
Town 1-1 Blackburn Sun 16th Sep 2001 19:40
Inconsistency was the key word on an afternoon when Town showed what they can do for short periods but overall were unconvincing. The refereeing of Graham Poll was equally up and down and the official was booed off at the end.
Stewart 5050 Fri 14th Sep 2001 16:47
Marcus Stewart is rated as 50/50 for Sunday's agme with Blackburn Rovers. Town's top striker is suffering from a hamstring problem picked up at the end of last week's game at leicester.
